In partnership with the City of St. Louis, the St. Louis Mental Health Board (MHB) is using $2 million in federal American Relief Plans Act (ARPA) funds to respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency. started the childcare provider application process. Childcare providers who provide quality care in the City of St. Louis are encouraged to apply for this her one-time grant to help stabilize the early childhood provider community.

Cassandra Kaufman, Executive Director of St. Louis MHB, said: “This is an opportunity for providers to get the support they need while supporting St. Louis working families in need.”

Eligible providers can apply for up to $49,500 in funding. Applications and further information are available online. The application deadline is September 9, 2022. The eligibility criteria are:

• Licensed, registered, or considered exempt from license to provide childcare by the Missouri Department of Health and Human Services and/or the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DHSS and/or DESE)
• Scheduled to be open until December 2022 (even if it is temporarily closed)
• Are located in the city of St. Louis and have a current business license
• Able to provide a KinderConnect Provider attendance summary and KinderConnect remittance advice for the period for which reimbursement of the difference in care costs is requested after receiving a state grant for a child living in the City of St. Louis
• If funded, you must submit a W-9
