Dodge is taking an ambitious step into the electric era with the Charger Daytona SRT Concept. Gone are his four doors of gas powered chargers. The two-door, somewhat familiar shape of the classic Charger is back. But the interior of his Dodge EV Muscle car is wilder than the dramatic throwback exterior of his cue. It’s a crazy environment with an ominous glow and a layout resembling a sci-fi spaceship.
If a sci-fi villain were to drive an EV, it would probably be Dodge’s new EV muscle car, the Charger Daytona SRT EV.
The new Dodge Charger Daytona SRT electric car looks a bit like an early 1970s Charger if you squint. But look closer and you’ll notice that it features modern materials, subtle aero, and sinister LED lighting throughout. But it gets even crazier when you drink in the interior aesthetic.
The first thing you’ll notice is the wrap-around lighting feature with “attitude lighting,” as Dodge calls it “Halo.” It looks like a bad guy fighter cockpit, regardless of technology. The brand claims to create a “driver-centric” interior. Finally, Dodge’s EV muscle car concept also features an 8 x 3-inch head-up display (HUD), giving drivers access to even more data.

The new concept doesn’t just leave retro functionality to the exterior. Dodge took inspiration from the classic grille and chose interior details inspired by the 1968 Dodge Charger. The pattern complements the interior lighting and creates what Dodge calls “three-dimensional quality.” Perhaps the biggest feature of the interior that dates back to the past is the pistol grip-inspired shifter.
How does the Dodge EV muscle car handle?
Dodge’s concept wheels are a far cry from the Charger and Challenger that steering wheel fans are familiar with. Instead, the marquee adopted a flat-bottom steering wheel with illuminated badging and a series of paddle shifters.
