Looking for something fun to do with your kids?

Maybe you have a young scientist in your family, or you want your child to have hands-on experience with STEM.

It takes place Wednesdays from 10am to noon at the Michigan Science Center (MiSci).

This summer science event celebrates the return of the Center’s popular Traveling Science Program and is sponsored by Aramaco America’s through May 23 at various locations across the Lower and Upper Peninsulas.

Dr. Christian Greer, President and CEO of the Michigan Science Center, said: “It is not always easy or affordable for some communities and schools to visit us on excursions. It provides a fun, hands-on learning experience that puts our state’s youth at the heart of science.”

Aramco America is a Detroit-area energy company whose Aramco Research Center is located in Novi and is committed to developing innovative transportation solutions. He is also a founding member of the ACI Center of Excellence of Non-Metallic Building Products in Farmington Hills. Last year, from June 2021 to May 2022, the Aramco Traveling Science Program: 104 events at schools, libraries, summer care and after-school programs, and other community groups in Michigan and Ohio.

Tickets to the STEM event are free and include general admission to the Michigan Science Center. Fees: $18 for adults and teens. $14 for children ages 2-15 and seniors.

Guests at Wednesday’s STEM event can experience numerous live science demonstrations conducted by MiSci educators. Activities during the August 24th celebration include:

• Food Web Jenga – Blocks can be added and removed from this Jenga game to represent different events that affect the stability of marine ecosystems, showing how small changes in ecosystems in the marine environment can have large impacts. Recognize that there is

• Frostology – See the ‘cool’ effects on solids, liquids and gases using liquid nitrogen in this large science demo show.
