New York (checks) and now London (checks) — we’re officially halfway through fashion month. With the fashion set booming in Milan, we wanted to share some of our favorite collections from LFW. Of the Big 4 (New York, London, Milan and Paris), London is known for its eclectic and artisanal approach to design. From Simone Rocha’s baroque romanticism and her Nensi Dojaka’s sophisticated sexiness to Molly Goddard’s tulle fantasies, her week of London fashion has something for everyone.

JW Anderson — JW Anderson’s quirky fishbowl dress was my favorite look from LFW.

JW Anderson — The world with JW Anderson is a better place. There is always a touch of whimsy, an avant-garde, surrealist approach to design. As with all his JW Anderson collections, it’s an inside view of the magical emporium that is his heart. That’s why I’m drawn to designers. I love looking at collections and automatically feeling part of that world. This SS23 collection is a man-versus-machine mentality. This particular look, Look 17, is a halter top constructed from old computer keys that looks very weird, but is also very wearable. It’s easy to see this top paired with baggy cargo pants and heels. Go for a street style look or pair it with a sequined maxi skirt for evening.

Richard Quinn — For Richard Quinn’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection, the beloved British designer dedicated his collection to Queen Elizabeth II. Upon learning of the Queen’s passing, Quinn and his team created his 22 looks, the first of the collection, in his ten days. This collection has been clearly created with careful craftsmanship. It portrayed a beautifully dark romance and put the beauty of royalty in the spotlight.

Marsha Popova — In general, the innovative ways designers are approaching denim these days is very impressive. Marcia Popova, in particular, made her first appearance at Her Fashion Week in London this season, showcasing a collection of her looks that are almost entirely experimental in denim. Intriguing washes and unexpected textures are a great way to play with the fabrics the brand does well in this elongated top and matching skirt. It is perfect for wearing not only in spring but also in autumn.
