There was no shortage of standout fashion looks at the 2022 MTV VMAs.

Many of today’s biggest musicians gathered on Sunday night at the annual awards ceremony to celebrate the year’s popular music videos. Swift made a surprise appearance at the MTV VMAs after which she surprise announced that she would be releasing her next album, Midnights, in October.

Hit K-pop girl group Blackpink debuted at the US awards show at the MTV VMAs, wowing each member with their own high-fashion look. The group performed their new song “Pink Venom” at the awards ceremony.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift had a big night at the MTV VMAs, winning three awards for her short film “All to Well” from the re-released version of her “Red” album. She also made a surprise announcement to release her next album ‘Midnights’ in October of this year. For her VMA appearance, Swift wore a crystal-embellished Oscar de la Renta dress from her 2023 collection at the Resort Designs Her House.

Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X stepped into the avant-garde look for the 2022 MTV VMAs in a look from Harris Reid’s ’60 Years a Queen’ fluid demi-couture collection. The rapper’s look consisted of a black feathery tiered skirt and a matching headpiece worn with black pants.

Riso

Lizzo celebrated her latest standout style moment at the VMAs, donning a voluminous navy blue Glenn Martens for a Jean Paul Gaultier dress from the design house’s Spring 2022 Couture collection. The musician accessorized the look with Jennifer Fisher’s gold hoops and his earrings, cufflinks and rings.

The Italian alternative group donned Gucci looks for the VMAs, while frontman Damiano David donned black tulle, a crystal-embellished cape and satin flared trousers from the Gucci Resort 2023 collection. Bassist Victoria De Angelis wears Gucci Resort 2023 one-shoulder her black jersey embroidered top and her black culottes. Brazilian singer Anitta made an impression at the 2022 MTV VMAs look, wearing a Schiaparelli Fall 2022 couture dress consisting of an asymmetrical red silk corset paired with a red velvet maxi skirt.

Musician Conan Gray wore a sleek look by Harris Reid for the VMAs in a white cutout blazer embellished with white tulle and lace, and black flared pants.

Chloe Bailey

Chloe Bailey went a custom route for the VMAs in a custom-made Zigman silver sequin gown featuring a bustier top, mesh cutouts, and a thigh-high slit.
