Senior Professional Officer: Automation/Process Control Systems

Tcoe salary from R912,661 per annum – Reference number: WS 149/22 – Cape Town

Requirements:

• BTech or BSc/BEng in Electronic/Photocurrent/Mechatronics Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in process control system engineering/design and application environments with experience in SCADA, telemetry, instrumentation, and PLC system design
• 5+ years of experience in a project management and contract management environment
• A valid driver’s license with Code 08.

Key performance areas:

• Develop in-house designs for instrumentation, automation, telemetry and SCADA systems, including industrial networks, and oversee consultant designs
• Review and update automation designs and inform standard electrical specifications.
• Review and comment on designs, drawings and documents of consultants and contractors
• Provide technical support for automation engineering workshop maintenance personnel on small update projects
• Help project managers monitor timelines, ensure specifications are being met, draft reports, and facilitate meetings with contractors and maintenance staff
• Provide project management and project engineering support
• Preparation of contract bidding documents, management and supervision of electricity contracts.
