Alabaster, Alabaster (WBRC) – Thompson High School offers free health checks, flu shots, health seminars, and family-friendly activities for all ages.

Shelby Baptist Medical Center will be participating in the Alabaster Health Fair on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 10am to 2pm.

Starting at 10:30 am, the fair will host a variety of seminars for parents and children on the importance of mental health.

At 11:30 there will be a seminar on stroke awareness and at the end there will be a seminar on caring for yourself after COVID.

City Council 3rd Ward Stacy Rakestraw said many people put things off because they don’t have insurance or are worried about the cost.

“This kind of thing helps cover things up and makes people more aware of what they need to do and the urgency of health care,” Rakestraw said.

The event is open to the public and features live music throughout the day.
