AMBOY – On Sunday, September 11th at 10am, the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center will host an open house for nature lovers of all ages. The Paul and Teresa Scheck Education Building is open from 10am to 4pm and features daytime crafts, activities and games for attendees to learn about nature and its facilities. Guests can also stroll through the Nature Museum and learn about New York State’s wildlife and flora from various exhibits. Starting at 2:00 pm, educators will lead guided programs for anyone who wants to participate.
On Saturday, September 17th at 10:00 am, the center’s educators will conduct the Fall Equinox Hike. They discuss how this event will occur and what can be expected in nature this season. For example, the days are getting shorter, temperatures are dropping, and wildlife is preparing for winter by hoarding food. The educator then leads the group on a guided hike through the woods looking for signs of autumn.
