The Continuing COVID Madness Shows It Wasn’t About Science

The pandemic is essentially over, right?
yes. For others, not so much.
Unvaccinated Canadians were finally allowed to leave the country in June, and no one knows why. If vaccines don’t prevent transmission, why does it make sense to keep unvaccinated people behind a frozen curtain?
But it’s Canada. It completely lost its plot with COVID, driving all its former freedom-loving ideals out the nearest window, didn’t it? America wouldn’t behave like that, would it?
Except us.
Tennis player Novak Djokovic was unable to travel to the United States to compete in August’s US Open because he was not vaccinated. You cannot enter the United States. Unless, of course, they cross our borders. That is correct. If you are visiting, stay away from yourself with COVID. If you’re going to stay here forever, bring that COVID with you now.
If you’re looking for consistency in your COVID-19 policies, you can stop now. None have made sense so far. The erosion of trust between Americans and our institutions is immense. And the damage continues.
New York City kids don’t need a COVID vaccination to go to school conduct I need it for school sports. Think about this. These kids can go to school, have lunch with friends, go on school trips, and play sports during gym class, but they can’t play in after-school leagues.
Many children rely on sports to pay for their higher education. Think about all the kids who don’t exercise after school because they can’t play sports.
If we’re doing this for the “health” of our children, we’re doing it all wrong. The poor will be hurt the most by these no-science nowhere rules.Professionals playing in the city athletes clearly have no such obligation.

Not just sports. A few days ago, the New York City Department of Education laid off an additional 850 of her teachers and classroom aides, totaling about 1,950 of her DOE employees since the October 2021 vaccine mandate. . Even at the time, it was terrible, but a year later, with an avalanche of information about how COVID spreads and what vaccines can’t do, the decision has become as cruel as it is stupid.
As The Post’s Susan Edelman reported a few days ago, “Overall, New York City has laid off more than 2,600 fully unvaccinated city employees.” That’s when places are said to be in the midst of a teacher shortage. These teachers are exploring opportunities in places as far afield as Long Island. It stands to reason.
Also, unvaccinated parents cannot enter New York school buildings. This includes parents of children with special needs who have to interact with teachers. These meaningless rules are causing lasting damage.
If you’re vaccinated and you’re thinking, ‘Those people should be vaccinated,’ you’re missing the mark. I am also vaccinated. But there’s absolutely no reason why Johnson & Johnson, shot in March 2021, should give me privileges that others don’t. Studies show that the effectiveness of vaccines wears off in months and you can become infected at any time.
Compulsory adherence for pleasure should not be a health policy.
No, boosters don’t mean you’re safer. White House spokeswoman Carine Jean-Pierre called it a “new vaccine.” You may be back to being “unvaccinated” sooner than you think.
But don’t take my word for it. During the pandemic, politicians forced their will on us by saying, “We have to listen to the CDC!” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (great no-no) and medium-cooked burgers (seriously, are you going to die on this picnic?) ignoring its guidance while we eat sushi I suddenly spewed out the word of God. .
The CDC recommends “do not discriminate based on an individual’s vaccination status because breakthrough infections will occur.” But somehow, aren’t we no longer “following science”?
It’s infuriating. And it’s easy to forget those left behind. But we will feel the effects of their absence. Cops no longer walking the beat, firefighters who worked through the pandemic but are now out of work, for not doing what they are told. A teacher who disappeared from a child’s classroom. And we will see the impact of taking things away from young people because they don’t comply.
We gain nothing from these vaccine mandates, but we lose a lot.
Politicians have done so many negative and horrible things in the name of overall COVID-19 safety. Continued vaccine mandates are a reminder that the pandemic is over for many, but the harm continues.
