If you have a lot of clothes you don’t know how to use, don’t throw them away! Mana Fashion Services has the solution.

Martu Freeman-Parker: “Mana Fashion’s goal is to create community in the fashion industry in downtown Miami.”

This Thursday, they’ll be hosting a zero-waste workshop and networking experience where people can learn how to upcycle their clothes.

Martu Freeman-Parker: “This is our first workshop as Mana Fashion Services and our goal is to bring the community together and learn. Sustainability is one of the top priorities for fashion designers here in Miami. is.”

Mana enlists the help of artist and designer Pangea Virga.

Martu Freeman-Parker: “Pangea is action. She does it every day. .”

Pangea is super efficient. Her designs are so unique that she doesn’t waste a single scrap of fabric.

Pangea Virga: “I make unique clothes from upcycled pieces, so I take things donated by the community and other designers and take them apart and recreate them.”

In workshops, she teaches people how to fix clothes. There is also a meet-and-greet where you can exchange clothes you no longer need with someone else, followed by a cocktail hour where everyone can schmooze.

Pangea Virga: “I think it’s important that people learn how to restore and come to these kinds of workshops to exchange.

She believes that people need to be actively involved in order to make a difference, which is why she teamed up with Mana for the workshop.

Pangea Virga: “It’s really great to learn new things together, share resources and share space to create a better future together.”
