orlando, florida – Lorena Pages went from working in the fashion design industry to becoming a full-time social media content creator. She uses her cat to create funny videos. She also taps into her Hispanic descent to add twists and laughs to her content.

Paige is known for her humor and funny voice on social media. Her cat, Tokyo, is the star of several of her videos. In 2019, the Venezuelan native first stepped into her social media world as her hobby.

“I loved creating comedy content just for myself and my friends. I was a little embarrassed to post it online,” she said. “I decided to give it a try and see if anyone would like it. I wasn’t sure if anyone would, but…”

Surprisingly, Lorena’s humor caught the attention of social media users.

“During the quarantine, I played with the cats a lot, so I felt that they had a lot to say, so I asked them to talk to me, share their opinions, and think what they think. I’ve shared things with them and used their audio,” she said.

She recalled that many people put their wardrobes on hold during quarantine. That’s how her one of her most used audios has come to be used by thousands of people. One user got millions of views.

“For a second, I was like, ‘Oh, this could be an exciting viral Tik Tok audio.’ I never thought it would be like Global,” she recalls.

Lorena’s comedic talent dates back to her childhood.

“I grew up with a mother who was always kind and who was totally willing to laugh. That was the way we liked it, even when there were problems.”

When Lorena was seven years old, her family moved from Venezuela to South Florida and began making videos with friends.

“It was fun for both of us to understand the cultural differences, language barriers, customs, etc.,” she said. “We started making videos together because I had a language barrier. We laughed a lot.”

Despite the global exposure with more than 1.3 million followers on Tik Tok and more than 241,000 followers on Instagram, Lorena said her loved ones keep her grounded.

“Certainly my family and my friends, and also I understand that nothing is different with followers and things like that. I will,” she said.

She takes pride in her heritage and is able to bring different cultures together through laughter.

“I love it. I love that I can share different cultures. A lot of Americans enjoy it. Humor,” she said. “For me, every month is Hispanic Heritage Month, right? Because I live every day.”
