GA, USA (WALB) – Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) held its annual Science Day on Friday.

Over 100 students from Lee and Marion counties had the opportunity to do all kinds of experiments.

Liquid nitrogen ice cream is one of the unique experiments performed during Science Day.

“I think what really helps here is that they get to meet a lot of professors. It wasn’t just us. We have a very close relationship here at GSW, as you know, the student-teacher ratio is very small, but that’s actually a good thing.

Students have developed an interest in science degree areas.

Students like Fincher have had a unique experience that will guide the younger generation.

“We were able to conduct biology, chemistry and mathematics demonstrations designed to help students become more inspired by science in general. Nedialka Lordanova, GSW Professor of Chemistry, Science Day organizer.

Fincher said high school students remind him of himself.

He was also intrigued by the technical side of scientific concepts.

“Just looking at the curiosity of the children. There were some reserved groups, but some of the children were naturally inspired and I always asked questions about the scientific side of things. It makes you think of me,” Fincher said.

This is the first time Science Day is back since the pandemic. This will inspire the next generation of scientists.
