BOSTON — As long as the Yankees’ analytics computer spits out good information on Gerrit Cole’s 10-strikeout, no-walks, 4 1/3-inning rehab Triple-A start Friday night in Rochester, and he’s pretty sure it will, then everyone involved in the organization’s next big decision probably will be onboard for an ace sighting on the Yankee Stadium mound this week.
Unless something unforeseen occurs Sunday, then the Yankees probably will be announcing soon that Cole will be off the injured list and making his season debut Wednesday night in the Bronx against their biggest challenger in the division and league, the mighty Baltimore Orioles.
