On September 1, Pardee UNC Health Care’s 11 primary care practices in Henderson, Buncombe and Transylvania counties will all become Pardee BlueMDs. The name change supports Pardee’s recent change to becoming a Federally Qualified Medical Center (FQHC) and will be reflected in signage, communications, and business materials.

Patients at Pardee BlueMD practices will continue to see providers as before, with minimal changes to their overall experience, but may be asked to complete new paperwork. In addition to her existing UNC Health Financial Assistance program, Pardee BlueMD practices now offer a sliding fee scale for services.

Jonna Reed, BSN, MPH, Chief Administrative Officer, Purdy UNC Healthcare, said: “Our community needs and believes we can support additional options for comprehensive, culturally appropriate, and high-quality primary care services. Services available include outpatient behavioral health care, pharmacy, care management, and access to social workers to assist with access to community services. I will be able to do more to support my family.”
