NEW YORK — Janet Jackson is in control of New York Fashion Week.
The legendary singer sat front row for Christian Siriano on Wednesday night, arriving at the shutter click of the cameras and quieting accolades from those in attendance. Fresh off a flight, Jackson took the stage at the fashion agency’s previous fashion show and award ceremony afterparty, receiving an Icon Award from HFR founder Brandis Daniel.
“Thank you so much… I’m so sorry I’m late, but I’ve literally just flown in from London,” Jackson said, going through the thank you list and heading to the VIP section near the DJ booth before snapping a photo.
Other winners of the anniversary event, sponsored by fashion conglomerate LVMH in a groundbreaking partnership, include Pulitzer Prize-winning fashion editor Robin Givan, winner of Home Editor of the Year. Designer Sergio Hudson (yes, the man behind Michelle Obama’s 2021 inaugural pantsuit) won Designer of the Year. celebrity stylist Ade Samuel Awarded Stylist of the Year For working with celebrities like Khalid and City Girls.
