YouTube takes education very seriously. Blog post to announce Player for Education, a new initiative now available in the US and South Korea. Aimed at improving the YouTube experience in educational environments, the new YouTube for Education Player is essentially an embedded player that displays content commonly used in educational apps. There are absolutely no distractions embedded in the player. To cover more people and institutions that need such tools, Google has announced partnerships with US edtech companies including EDpuzzle, Purdue University and Purdue Global.

Additionally, YouTube has confirmed that the all-new Player for Education improves on the existing YouTube embedded player in Google Classroom to give users an even better viewing experience.

As far as creators go YouTube has revealed that starting in 2023, “qualified creators” will be able to offer free or paid courses to provide a learning experience to their viewers. These courses are ad-free and can be played in the background. As previously mentioned, these courses will be available in beta first in the United States and South Korea, and then expanded to more countries.

Another interesting tool announced by YouTube this week is called Quiz, which helps creators test their knowledge with their audience. Whenever the creator wants to ask viewers a question related to one of her previous videos,[コミュニティ]You can post quizzes on the tab.

According to YouTube, the new tool will be in beta over the next few months, and all creators with a community tab will have access to the quiz sometime next year.
