The Kentucky Science Center brings the early childhood mobile experience to another Kentucky library. Science in Play2Go, a scaled-down version of the Kentucky Science Center’s signature Science in Play exhibit, opens Saturday, September 3 at the Cold Spring Branch of the Campbell County Public Library.

Designed specifically for children ages 8 and under, Science in Play2Go is built around two concepts: endless play and ‘loose parts’ (material that can be reimagined in countless ways), allowing children 21 A century of learning and STEAM can develop naturally. skill.

Science in Play2Go is available free to the community and participating libraries thanks to the support and partnership of the Kentucky Library and Archives (KDLA).

Traveling exhibits are open to the community during normal library hours. Play2Go’s Science excursions and group visits are recommended. Campbell County exhibits include building your own roller coaster, engineering big blocks at Build Your World, and visiting the Shapes and Stuff Store to encourage free thinking, collaboration, and creativity. These basic skills provide a foundation for future learning.

The science of Play2Go’s impact is clear. A survey conducted in the first year of the traveling exhibition found that an average of 89% of parents and guardians “feel more confident in their ability to nurture their children’s science learning” after visiting Science on Play2Go.
