GRANVILLE, Ohio – Brogan Fisher of Homeworth awarded $1,000 from the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) and the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Foundation (OOGEEF) for students pursuing careers in the natural gas and oil industry. I received a dollar scholarship. The 2022 class is diversely represented by individuals covering her 22 counties in Ohio, 15 institutions of higher learning, and 20 different majors.
Since 2007, the Ohio natural gas and oil industry has awarded 599 scholarships to 342 students worth a total of $599,000. Recipients are vetted to ensure they have the skills and qualifications to receive an education that supports a fulfilling career. Applicants will be judged on essay writing, academic performance, letters of recommendation, career choices, and other special awards.

CANFIELD – South Range Elementary School has been recognized as a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School based on overall academic performance or progress towards closing achievement gaps between student subgroups.
Nanbu District School
SALINEVILLE – Southern Local Schools of Salinville received $10,000 from the Ohio EPA’s Recycling Ohio Grant to install or retrofit a fountain with a water bottle refill station. The grant helps cover the cost of equipment and benefits the state by reducing plastic bottle waste by encouraging students and school staff to carry reusable water bottles. Oho EPA’s Recycling and Waste Prevention Grant Program provides $500,000 to her K-12 schools in public and private schools statewide, “3R” – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. This grant will help reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles and keep more plastic waste out of landfills. Communities receive grants of up to $5,000 per school and up to $10,000 per school district or parish.
