Ferrari, the world-famous Italian racing and sports car brand, hosted its third ever fashion show to unveil the brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection.

This multitude of looks was a bit different from the fashion identity that Ferrari had begun to form in its first and second shows. This time, creative his director Rocco Ranone wanted to emulate Ferrari’s human element on the runway.

The first collection revolved around the world of automobiles, while the second revolved around high-tech futurism. This show has been stripped down to reflect the person behind the Ferrari steering wheel.

Lanone debuted the show at Milan’s Teatro Lirico for its symbolism as a place to tell the story of humanity. Focus the entire show on the human world.

As the look walked the runway, we saw a mix of tailoring, workwear and racing gear, expressing the different souls of Ferrari.

Despite the varied display of tailoring, workwear and racing gear, the palette of pieces tied them all together. Monochromatic looks, vibrant repeating patterns and fresh color tones were the streamlined features of the collection.

From blazers and skirts to blazers, dresses, coats and leather coats that can be worn around the waist, the silhouettes of the pieces play a little with typical masculine and feminine motifs.

Like the combined looks of the different people who use Ferrari, the materials in the collection reflect that combination.

Silk, cotton, jacquard wool, jersey and glove leather alternate throughout this season’s runway collection. It focuses on the high quality Italian craftsmanship that is the backbone of the Ferrari brand.

In addition to the show’s high-quality materials, the looks all used low-impact materials and treatments to champion social and environmental awareness in the fashion industry.

Ferrari has also worked exclusively with partners and suppliers certified to adhere to leading international sustainability standards.

Only time will tell if Ferrari’s efforts to dominate fashion in the same way that it does sports cars with three shows will succeed.
