Notre Dame Beats Clemson Tigers to Dominate Fashion

South Bend, Indiana – On a cool, windy night in South Bend, Clemson couldn’t hold anything offensively, but Notre Dame imposed its will and dominated the Tigers in all three phases, winning 35-14 .
It was the first loss for world No. 4 Clemson (8-1) since losing to Pitt last October and marked the nation’s longest winning streak at 14 games.
The Irish (6-3) were able to hold off the Tigers’ offense and held Clemson to 281 total yards for the night. It wasn’t until the third quarter that the Tigers crossed his 100-yard mark.
Starting QB DJ Uiagalelei finished the night trailing 39-27 for 191 yards, putting many of his throws behind the line of scrimmage. He threw one interception and was returned 96 yards for a touchdown. Wiagalerei also fired him four times that night.

The offense was so ineffective that Cayde Krabnik was added to the lineup again late in the third quarter, but this time with different results. ‘ 6 Yard Line.
Even Clemson’s defense could not relieve the Tigers as Notre Dame won the battle at the line of scrimmage all night and gained 263 rushing yards on the night.
Player of the Game: Notre Dame freshman corner Benjamin Morrison picked both Krabnik and Wiagalerei in victory. His first pick came late in the third quarter, setting a goal from 6 to Irish 1st.
Key play: On the second play of the night, Krabnik scrambled out of his pocket for pressure and threw an ill-timed pass off his back foot deep in his own endzone, only to be intercepted by Morrison for the Tigers’ 5. . .
